Valid Search Statements

You can create many types of searches.

Note: The operators and, or, not, and in do not require brackets.

Term:
condition
The search engine will find documents that include a single word, as well as variations on the word as a root: conditioner, conditioning. To restrict your search to the word itself, enclose it in quotation marks; "condition" will retrieve only those documents with that word.

Phrase: (bound phrase without stemming):
"sports teams"

Phrase: (multiple terms with stemming)
<stem>(drug abuse)

Phrase with hyphens: 
drug-abuse

Term with truncation / wildcards: 
comput*
ach??ve

Letters and numbers combined: 
3m

Term or phrase limited to a field: 
smith in au

Multiple terms combined with operators: 
dog or puppy or canine

Any of the above, grouped with parentheses for clarity: 
(dog or canine) <near> art
